Registered Nubian Goats - Near San Antonio
by Elizabeth James
This is Linus.  He is out of Lucy, by Ghosty.  He has been an exceptional young goat growing
strong fast.  We have always believed that the original purpose of the Nubian as a dual
purpose goat was the best.  We intend to breed the dual purpose back into our herd.  This
little guy is a welcome addition.  He will be our herd sire starting in 2012.
This is Spice, out of Sugar.  He also displayed the traits that we find desirable.  We never pick
a buck that was born large.  We would never keep a buck that has structural issues.  The
candidates for our buck program must be average at birth, grow fat and sassy on their
mother's milk and pasture alone.  We never grain our growing kids.  If a buck needs worming
or medication / vet care during his upbringing, he is automatically disqualified.  Spice will be
sharing some of the herd sire duties this summer as well as next.
And finally, this is Fire.  He has been an exceptional herd sire for the past two seasons.  He
will have some does this summer but he is looking for a new home.  He is out of Firefly and
has excellent milking blood lines as well as a good strong frame and meaty stature.  This guy
is the gentlest of bucks.  He loves to have his neck rubbed and spend time with his people.
